Dr Chris Bourke is a member of the ACT Legislative Assembly representing the seat of Ginninderra. He is Government Whip, Assistant Speaker, and Chair of the Standing Committee on Health, Ageing, Community and Social Services. First elected to the Legislative Assembly in June 2011 he has served as ACT Minister for Education and Training, Industrial Relations, Corrections and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Affairs. Dr Bourke graduated from the University of Melbourne in 1982; the first person of Aboriginal descent to complete a dental degree.
