Catherine King was first elected to Federal Parliament in 2001 to represent the electorate of Ballarat. On 18 October 2013, Ms King was appointed to the role of Shadow Minister for Health in the Shadow Cabinet led by the Hon. Bill Shorten. She was re-elected as member at subsequent Federal Elections in 2004, 2007, 2010 and 2013.
