2017 in review: The history of FASD

You’re in for a treat this summer. This month FARE’s Drink Tank team has been showcasing the best of 2017; a selection of the most robust and interesting conversations from preventive health experts, researchers and practitioners for your reading pleasure.

Today we’re focusing on Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD).

Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) is not a new phenomena. In this story, published ahead of this year’s International FASD Awareness Day, NOFASD Chief Executive Louise Gray shares how understanding humanity’s historical love affair with alcohol can teach us some important lessons.

Ms Gray calls on us to use our modern-day knowledge, awareness and evidence to better support those who are pregnant, those who are planning to become pregnant, and those who could be pregnant and don’t yet know it.
